Compost and Biodegradable Solutions
WasteZero is meeting the growing demand for biodegradable plastic by offering our municipal partners the WasteZero Enviro-Bag, a 100% degradable trash metering bag manufactured from recycled plastic. The revolutionary Enviro-Bag completely degrades and breaks down, returning to nature in as little as 12-24 months – leaving absolutely NO residue or harmful toxins.

Many of our clients have wanted a cost-competitive, degradable trash metering bag, and now, because of recent scientific advances, we can deliver it. This is an exciting new product.

The WasteZero Enviro-Bag is made with an oxo-biodegradable proprietary application method developed by EPI to produce the film for the bags. As a result of this advanced manufacturing process, the Enviro-Bag, when discarded in a landfill in the presence of microorganisms, moisture and oxygen, decomposes into carbon dioxide, water, and biomass -- simple materials found in nature – faster than a standard plastic trash bag.

Produced in WasteZero’s manufacturing facilities in the United States, WasteZero Enviro-Bags are engineered to be as strong and durable as standard WasteZero trash metering bags. Enviro-Bags are custom made to the size, weight, and color specifications of WasteZero client municipalities. Just as with standard WasteZero trash metering bags, the municipality's official seal is printed on each Enviro-Bag.

COMPOSTING. For residential composting, WasteZero offers 100% compostable bags utilizing ASTM-6400 certified resins, or traditional custom printed Kraft paper bags. Our WasteZero turn-key solutions for waste reduction and increased recycling can incorporate any of our biodegradable and compost products.
Environmental Impact
In more than 300 communities nationwide, the WasteZero System has dramatically impacted residential waste diversion. A 2008 analysis of all WasteZero communities found that the WasteZero System decreased residential MSW by an average 43 percent in weight.

Trash Metering is Best for Recycling
For decades, environmental scientists at the United States Environmental Protection Agency have studied all the tools, all the programs, all the systems that cities and towns can employ to increase recycling rates.
