The new WasteZeroTM Enviro-Bag® is an OXO-Biodegradable plastic trash bag designed for use in a Municipal Solid Waste environment.
When partnered with the WasteZeroTM System (Solid Waste Reduction Program), it further enhances the benefits of the overall program in several ways:
- Plastic trash bags are designed to take solid waste from its origin (household, commercial business, etc.) to it's destination (landfill, incinerator, etc.). They are not intended for Recycling or Reuse.
- When traditional (non-degradable) plastic trash bags are collected and deposited along with their contents into a landfill, their contents tend to be closed inside the bag (some may say forever) and not properly exposed to the internal landfill environment in such a way as to allow the contents the opportunity to properly degrade.
- When the plastic trash bag itself begins to degrade, break-down, and expose its contents to the internal landfill environment, then the contents will have a better chance to begin the natural processes that would normally occur.
- This should allow for a more rapid and stable "settling" process of the landfill as well as allowing for a more efficient process of methane gas production and collection in those instances where methane gas collection is used to generate operational income.
