Municipal Waste Reduction Manager

Summary

The Municipal Waste Reduction Manager is responsible for delivering WasteZero’s mission of cutting landfills in half by expanding WasteZero’s market in the New England area, specifically MA, ME, and NH. As the Waste Reduction Manager, you will identify, cultivate, and maintain new customer relationships while also supporting and advancing existing partnerships. At the core of WasteZero’s ethos is a player/coach mentality, there is no job too big and no job too small for our team members; truly encompassing the modern entrepreneurial spirit.

 

The Job

The Municipal Waste Reduction Manager reports directly to the President of the organization and requires the ability to work across both internal cross-functional teams as well as external partners and local governments.

  • Identifies opportunities for growth and establishes long-term goals in solid waste management.

  • Leverages a knowledge of WasteZero’s program portfolio to recommend, design and implement new programs and improve existing programs across the New England Market.

  • Develop and share periodic reports for customers as well as WasteZero cross-functional and leadership teams.

  • Acts as the primary liaison between the municipality, the WasteZero teams, and other supporting vendors and partners.

  • Responsible for helping customers find solutions to solid waste challenges.

  • Attend and present at sales and marketing events.

  • Customer service including AR function, account management and inventory management.

  • Is proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 2+ years in an accounts management role, preferably in an environmentally focused organization

  • 3+ years of municipal solid waste management experience preferred.

  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role, resulting in the development and implementation of creative program and service offering strategies.

  • Experience working with multiple, conflicting priorities, creating a project plan, communicating, and interacting with people at all levels of the organization.

  • Experience in managing the successful delivery of large, complex projects.

  • Preferred experience in sustainability and eco-friendly initiatives.

  • Work history demonstrating excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving aptitude.

  • Experience collaborating with a sales team.

  • Knowledge of a supply ordering process and ERP systems is beneficial.

 

Special Position Requirement

  • Travel required; overnights as needed.
